Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) sequence. Semax has the sequence Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. It corresponds to a fragment of ACTH(4-10) with a proline-glycine-proline extension at the C-terminus.
